Parents
Most American parents would never allow their high school aged child to study abroad in a foreign land and live with a host family. Asian parents often send their children abroad to study as an opportunity for their kids to grow and learn in a new environment. While most parents are not able to speak English, they are required to learn about American culture and their host family. As each student grows and becomes more comfortable in America, the parents must grow too so they can make the necessary decisions facing their child’s future. There are many differences between American and Asian cultures but the love a parent feels for their child is universal.
